MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL (WFOR/CNN)-A Florida woman was rushed to hospital after he was accidentally shot in the chest by her husband.
“He heard some noises coming from the first floor, when he goes under, he is arming himself with a firearm and at that moment was when he turned around the bend, met face to face and pulling the trigger,” said Det. Alvaro Zabaleta.
Investigators say Larry Valadez did not expect his wife, Neleida Vasquez, should go home because he left with their children to run the task.
“Luckily, the kids were waiting in the car so that they are,” said Zabaleta.
Neighbors in the community empathize with Valadez and his wife. With the increased level of crime in the community lately, he assumed he was protecting the home.
